Diabetes Care Tips

Diabetes is caused by malfunctioning pancreas which is a glandular endocrine organ that produces an important harmone –insulin, responsible for maintaining healthy levels of sugar in the human body.  In addition to insulin pancreas also produce pancreatic juice containing glucagon, somatostatin and pancreatic polypeptide which help in digestion and assist in absorption of nutrients in small intestines.

Diabetes is an auto immune disorder of the pancreas such that the immune system attacks those cells of pancreas which are responsible for secreting insulin. Insulin is the enzyme which regulates the blood sugar levels in the body. Once the insulin production in the body is affected, the blood sugar levels in the body become uncontrolled and the person is said to be diagnosed as affected by diabetes.  This disease is characterized by increase in the sugar concentration in the blood which travels to all the vital organs of the human body and affects their functioning. A person affected with diabetes is not able to burn all the absorbed sugar. The increase in the blood sugar levels may be slow and gradual such that initially the affected person may or not notice the signs of this disease before it has reached alarming levels.
This high level of sugar in the blood can be dangerous and needs to be controlled by external means. Various vital organs may get affected like – the retina of the eyes can get damaged first leading to white cornea, skin and feet may get affected leading to diabetic foot sometimes leading to amputation, your teeth may get affected with periodontal disease and other infections may be caused by high blood sugar levels.
Ideally a diabetic person would need a dietician to advise you about what to eat and what not to eat, an endocrinologist who will be able to check your blood sugar levels and advise you about the insulin dosage, a skin specialist, a foot care specialist to take care about skin infections and inflammations, a dentist and also a general physician to advise you about oral infections and other general complications arising out of diabetes.
Some new age therapies have been invented and evolved to manage diabetes. One such alternative therapy involves the application of Infra Red rays to help diabetic patients live a better and healthy life. Solomon Bio Pharma & Research – an innovative healthcare company have introduced a Dia B-Care sock which control diabetes. The fiber of these are embedded with nano powder in polymer and treated with Dr. Free technology (US Patented). The nano powder in polymer (70nm-100nm) can reduce the risk of germ and fungal infections. Dia B Care socks releases FAR infra red energy to improve blood circulation and controls blood pressure. Dia B Care socks even controls the bad effect on eyes due to diabetes.
