“Peripheral Neuropathy” high risk foot care issue in Diabetic Patients.

Neuropathy is a severe abnormality, when the nerve pathway is disrupted during the nerve signals, causing the brain to misinterpret information, feelings or sensations. Types of different neuropathy diseases are known by different names; it constitutes and signifies on the number of nerves affected, their functions, and location of these nerves in the body.
“Peripheral Neuropathy”:  as it may be known as “PN” the name for nerve damaged during the  malfunction of the peripheral nerves.  The “PN” nerves that are extended to the arms, hands, legs, and feet come under this category. When a single peripheral nerve is damaged it is called “mono-neuropathy”. And if the nerves are damaged in more numbers, it is called “multiple-neuropathies”. During the conditions when these peripheral nerves damages are caused to many nerves at the same time, it is known as “poly-neuropathy”.
Diabetes Mellitus” :  During “Diabetes” the body is associated with several types of neuropathy, as “chronic poly-neuropathy”. The “Chronic poly-neuropathy” expands eventually, and it may take over months or years to detect, and usually it begins in the feet and hands.
“Peripheral Neuropathy”
Peripheral Neuropathy is known to have more than “100” branches or types, each of which has different characteristic symptoms and pattern of its development. Each type defines the “nerve damage” with symptoms that a patient experiences and what effect and the degree of damage has explored on his/her physical functioning. Peripheral neuropathy can both be inherited and it can be acquired simultaneously. “Peripheral Neuropathy” is usually caused by physical injury to the nerve, deficiencies in nutrition, alcoholism, tumours, or vascular (blood vessel) disease. “PN” can also be transferred from toxins produced by some bacteria’s or by various types of cancers. Metabolic disorders in the form “Diabetes” can contribute to the formation of “Peripheral Neuropathies”.
People with damaged “Peripheral Nerves” may surely not be able to feel the pain, heat, or cold in general in the arms, both hands, lower legs, and feet. Some people, with Peripheral Neuropathy can feel the numbness in these parts. Some people feel shooting pains with the feeling of electrical-shock in the parts and simultaneously few people complaint about burning, tingling, and a feeling of being pricked by pins. These sensations are more often at night and can disturb during sleep. Sensations may occur on one side of the body or sometimes they occur on both the sides in such conditions both feet or both hands become sensitive.
Peripheral Nerve damage and leads deformations of the feet. In such cases the muscles are weak, while the tendons get shorter in the feet.  Older people cover 50% of the “Peripheral Neuropathy” disease in Type 2 Diabetes. High blood glucose levels usually damage the blood vessels that bring oxygen to these nerves. High blood glucose may also hurt the tissues and cells covering of the nerves. These damaged nerves can stop sensing, or it may sense too slowly or at the wrong times, resulting in numbness or pain.
Diagnosis of diabetic “Peripheral Neuropathy” is made symptomatic analysis and various other signs of peripheral nervous dysfunctions in Diabetic patients. You may also know that people with diabetes can develop Peripheral Neuropathy from other causes also, it’s highly important to rule out those signs and analysis before concluding cause of diabetes. Early stages of diabetic peripheral neuropathy may show no symptoms or signs, even without symptoms, its presence may raise the risk of foot ulcers by 5% to 7%. On the contrast, a person who does not have neuropathy may have a less than 1% annual risk of foot ulcer.
